I have had an account with Navy Federal since 1989. I have kept this account, even when it was not my primary banking account just because their interest rates have always been phenominal. The initial $5 I opened the account with in 1989 was at times the only money in my savings or checking account and the accounts remained open. When I joined you had to be military and outside CONUS to become a member. I just found out that my mom, brothers, wife, daughter and grandsons can all become members due to my service. Not only that, they will deposit money in their accounts to open their accounts. This is awesome! I don't pay a lot of fees that other banks charge. I highly recommend this credit union if you qualify!

I use a NFCU branch near my home. They are always courteous, and helpful. I have a CD, credit card, money market account and savings. They give me free cashiers' checks and no fee VISA gift cards. It is so easy doing business with them. I have been a customer since August 2011.

I love this credit union, but they need to train their employees better. They tend to give faulty financial advice. Do a lot of research before listening to their financial advisors.

I live near a NFCU branch so I have no complaints. Free Cashier Checks, and refund of up to $10 using other ATMs helps. I appreciate the friendly customer service. I wish they would give free checks, but they don't.

Very satisfied with Navy Federal Credit Union.....very helpful, very reliable....unfortunately you can't deal directly with them, but that will keep you from going to a local bank and taking out too much money!

To be the largest credit union in the world, they still lack a few things like available branches and agreements with other credit unions. I would expect them to be more helpful when it comes to credit extension but it is fairly hit or miss. Either way, I keep them around for my mother's sake but I don't do much business with them anymore.

they suck!! my wife and i both have loans from them. they are slow, and rude. we have been paying on my wifes loan for 4 months never late, and some how we owe more than what we took out??? even if you have great credit or bad credit the interest rates are always high. when i applyed for my loan i had a credit score of 760 and i still got a loan for 12% interest. i guess they are good for some people but they are not for everyone. if you have navy fed good luck and keep an eye on ur money

I've been with NFCU since 1968 when I entered the Navy. Their customer service is absolutely excellent. I re-financed my mortgage with them 3 years ago; the entire process went very smoothly. I also have a car loan and credit card with them. Rates are competitive, and virtually all transactions are easily accomplished online. I can't imagine why anyone other than a total loser would give them a negative review.
