I was one of those lucky Americans who was unemployeed for a matter of sometime and had some credit cards become deliquent and put a neg ding on my credit but those have all been resolved and cleared but still show on my good ol credit report! Also I got penailzed for having some cards with a $0 balance and they closed them which made my score worse. I used to have a CK 785 now its like 585 in the words of Credit karma and I applied for this card and got approved for $500. I have no debt and I have a really good job make about $5000k before taxes a month and all i have is a $389 car payment which I have never missed a payment. I really want to get the Barclaycard so I can purchase a new MAC but scared that it will not get approved

Credit Score of 641.  No other credit cards but own home and make almost $40,000.  Approved for credit limit of $2,000 instantly.  Had a Capital One about 4 years ago that I stopped making payments.  It closed, went to collections, then paid it off.  No credit cards since but credit has also been flawless since.

It's a good first card to have. I didn't have any credit when I applied for this card. I still applied for the Citi student card and got denied. However, when I applied for this card, I received an instant approval. I did find it kind of weird that you could have entered a different profession other than student on the application, but that's beside the point I guess. I had a credit line of $500 back in October 2011. Now it's at $750 with 7 on-time payments. Only complaint is the high APR, which is why I'm considering another credit card right now.

Just applied for the Journey card through Capital One. Could not be happier. I have a CK score of 646, which I had rebuilt from around 550s two years ago. My credit limit is $2000 and was approved in approximately 60 sec. APR is 19.8%, but I plan to pay everything on time. This is my first unsecured credit card in the last four years and I'm glad to see that I'm on the road to credit recovery. Would definitely recommend the card.

low Credit limit, 300。。 and spend half a year to increase the line into 500. Ridiculous!

I was approved with a 500 limit. I had a ck score of 678. I  recieved a letter stating that after 5 months of use and ontime payments my limit would be raised to 750 yay :). To everyone who was denied I heard capital ones student card is the easiest student card to be approved for. I would write capital one or call in and ask for a reconsideration. Only do this if it has been less than a month since you applied.

I was approved with a TransUnion score of 630 (according to my bank, who ran my credit), and a Credit Karma (TransRisk) score of 633. My only credit history is that I've had a $3000 student loan for 7 months. Credit limit is $300. I'm really glad Capital One decided to take a chance on me, seeing how I'm just building credit as an exercise, and don't plan to even carry a balance. I don't understand how some other cards can claim to be "student" cards but deny credit based on lack of history.
