Got instant approval for $3,000 CL with a CK score of 713 and Vantagescore of 786 (21 years old so all my credit is less than 3 years old). Got the 0% APR for a year but then it's 20.9% after that, which I always pay my bill in full anyways so I don't have to worry about that. Getting $100 off of $500 is pretty nice though! And the 1.5% cash back will go great at WalMart which never seems to get into any 5% rotating categories on other cards.

Instant online approval. $7,500 limit, CK score of 689. This is my first personal card, though I have been on one of my parents card for several years, and I have one auto loan with no late payments.

Highly complementary to other rewards cards. 1% cashback on all purchases with a bonus 50% on all cashback earned after one year so basically a 1.50% cashback card. If you're savvy about rewards cards like me and use the correct (Chase, AmEx, Discover, Citi, etc.) card to maximize your earnings on specific categories I highly recommend getting the Capital One Cash Rewards card to maximize your rewards on categories you aren't getting cashback for in excess of 1.5%. Plus- CapitalOne lets you apply your earned cashback rewards to your statement as soon as they clear so you don't have to wait to reach a certain amount (like $20, $25, $50) to redeem rewards.

I use to work for Cap One in their Executive Office. I wouldn't give their credit card to my dog (even if I had one). Their practices are horrible.

Capital One is one of the wrost credit card companies to use. I personally used them and they lowered my credit rating. They will charge you $30 if you go over $1 on your balance. Then they charge you a $100 a month if you only pay the minimal amount.

I have just applied for this card with a CrediKarma score of 758 and got instantly approved for $5k. Will see how it works out, but at least my overall credit increased and I added Mastercard to my mix.

I have a credit score of 776 and when I applied got "we will send a notice soon". Was little upset becasue I have credit cards from Citi with limit of over 20000, Discover 20000, Amex 20000 with util of less than 20% and all cards paid in full every month and Cap 1 has to think about giving me credit. Instant turn-off after few weeks got a letter and when I felt the letter it was just paper and no card. Opened it to see that card was approved for only 7500 it went on and said that card will be in the mail in few weeks. Previous expirence never had to wait more than 1-2 weeks to get the card. Cap 1 is very stingy with giving a line of credit . I looked it up online to see Cap 1 only likes customers who carry a balance and pays late. Good luck!

Was your Vantage Score posted by Credit Karma? I currently have a Credit Karma Vantage Score of 704 and wondered if I should apply for this credit card.

I was approved for this card after getting the "we will send you a response in the mail" notification online. I was sure I'd been denied but a week or so later I got a letter from them with all the terms of agreement, etc of "Your new Capital One CC!". I was confused because there was no credit card, so i called them and found out I had been approved. They hadn't created the account yet so they didn't have details as to LOC or anything else, but the card eventually arrived a week later with a $3000 credit line. The letter they sent with it said at the time of approval my credit score was 642 (they have to tell you your credit score at time of approval by law now). I think thats why it took a manual review. I have a Discover card with $6000 line, Chase with $2200, Saks Card $1500 limit, Amex with no limit, and an old Capital One I opened in Oct. 2010 (my first credit card) with a $750 limit. My utilization around time of application was 50%, so I'm sure that since I applied on Jan. 3, 2012 that they knew that the utilization was so high because Christmas had just passed. The cards have all since been paid. I think I'm one of the few people to never have had a problem with Capital One. I just used their card a little each month, paid some each month even if it said their was no minimum payment due (I wasn't gonna let a computer glitch ruin my credit), etc. Hope this review helps others!
