I have been paying Chase on time, paying above minimum and under limit on all bills for over two years and Chase refuses to lower my limit.  I have had this card since 1993. As soon as I can get rid of them I will.

Had CK score of 680 with good approval odds. I called and was informed that I was denied due to student loans in default. I explained how they were not in default that I did a deferment due to premature labor and being in the hospital for quite some time. She asked me to hold that there may be a way around.  She then explained my current credit cards I have no had long enough one since july 2011 one very recent. She said chase would keep my application until the end of the month and could reconsider without another hard pull, Has anyone else heard of this??

CS 690 - Declined due to bankruptcy  (6 yrs ago) and too many recent inquiries.  Applied to local credit union - approved in 2 hrs.  Chase - goodbye.

I was initially declined for this card with a 668 CK and 794 Vantage. So I called the backdoor number listed, just to see what I could learn. The rep was very nice and asked me some more questions, and she also pulled up a variation of my credit report that was much more accurate and up to date than whatever the application had used. Approved for $3,000 with 18.9%. I think the moral of the story is 1) Only use CreditKarma's recommendation if you are at the higher end of their average approved score, and 2) Dig a little bit, nobody has access to perfect information all the time. And of course, be responsible!

CS of 688 with limited credit history and a credit card with many missed payments back in college (4 years ago). I have a C1 CC for over a year now and havent missed a single payment ($3,500 limit). Chase told me the app was in pending but I called and they approved it right away with a $1000 limit. Not outstanding but with my credit history, I have to start somewhere! :)

CK score of 785 and have had this card for years. My limit is $12K with an APR of 13.24%. I love the rewards with this card. Having the option to use points for cash, airfare or products/gift cards is awesome. My wife has this card too and she was approved for a limit of $11K. To the people being denied with a score in the 600s...... what did you expect???

First off I expect to be treated like a human. People with low credit scoredsare not unworthy of credit. I had cancer and had to file bankrupcy due to insurance not paying all the debt and the debt going over half million and I had insurance..... So since I was sick and had to file because insurance was a joke and didnt cover half of it does that mean I dont get credit ever again??? Not fair considering I am a law abiding tax paying citizen. Hope your family never has a hardship where you loose your credit and then aomeone tells you you can get credit for something you need...so dont get mad because what did you expect???

A Big Bank like Chase wouldn't be the way to go for you.  They did have to go through hardships of their own as a company, so they need something like a credit score to know wether to extend you credit or not.  What if you get sick again and can't pay off your debt to Chase?  Are local banks or credit unions an option for you?  With them, having a banking history and getting to know the employees and managers counts for quite a bit in addition to your official credit score.  I've been with a local bank for twelves years now, ever since eighth grade graduation, watched me grow up, graduate high school, and go to college.  They extended me a $2k line of credit for overdraft protection with 14% APR, and thats with 5 recent hard inquiries and a CK score of only 655.  The year before I was a victim of fraud and during my teens I used to overdraft my checking account on a regular basis.  My mom who was stricken with breast cancer 7 years ago and my father who had a heart attack and back problems only a few years before that still received a similar line of credit, and that's after her credit score plummeted to the 500's.  Really, I hope you aren't expecting a faceless corporate machine like Chase to offer sympathy or consider your particular situation.

I got this card about 1 year ago.  The customer service is excellent.  There are many websites which recommend this card.  I like that you're given your cash back on your recent statement and the redemption process is easy. With Am Ex Blue the cash back isn't available to you until the next statement.

Do you realize that when you cancel a card it lowers your credit score?  Don't make decisions when you are angry...  I had to learn that the hard way myself...  Just some friendly advise..

Creat card. 5% bonus every quarter. And extra bouns on the points you earned every month. On the Ultimate Rewards Mall, you can redeem giftcards at a discounted rate and do online shopping with some big merchandise sellers at a special cashback rate. Good benefits like other Chase credits cards on rental card issurance, extended warranty etc. might not be as good  as the Amex ones though but still great benefits that you should not overlook.
