annual fee?? I have 5 cards from 4 different banks. Not one is over 10% with the lowest being 7.9% and not one has an annual fee. I know they made some drastic changes thanks to obamacare and the bank fiasco he helped champion but really are there that many people out there not willing to look around a little longer to find something with no annual fee??

You've got to be kidding me. What kind of credit card is this?
Pokey481 3 months ago
I cannot believe that you give me this option as #1. A $45 annual fee??? You have to be kidding. I will never pay a fee for a credit card unless every credit card in the world charges a fee. You guys need to take a look at what you are promoting. Makes me wonder just how much Iberia is kicking back to you. Sorry for being so cynical.

I can't believe that this card is Credir Karma's #1 recommendation for me! The #2 recommendation is a card that I already have!! Add to this a glaring error in my "Credit Report Card, and I'm beginning to doubt the cerdibility of Credit Karma altogether. (This is disappointing, because they claim that my overall rating is "Excellent," but now I don't know if I can trust them at all.)

I also belong to https://experian.experiandirect.com and YES it cost me but I compare the two on my score and all data & there both OFF so really I am with ya on that pmcmahon as I do a guess that I am in between what each place says on my credit & scoring. As https://experian.experiandirect.com gives me my credit report FREE every 3 months with whatever I signed up for and today I update my report/score there & here at CK and there was a whopping difference just on the score. by 40 points...

I am not sure if they are reliable as that there is a big difference in scores from CK and Experian..and with that being said its not just Experian I get all 3 bureau's and my score was lower here by 40 points which scared me.

Yeah, probably better to let banks fail and uninsured die.

the CARD Act actually allows us as consumers to see which credit score credit card companies are using to base their decisions (which gives you a chance to contest the decision), it also curtails being permenantly put in a penalty APR category (now credit card companies have to review your account after 6 months of being in the penalty APR), it requires at least 45 days notice before pushing up your APR, and it also allows you to opt out of being allowed to go over your limit (which in turn is used to slap you with an over the limit fee). considering former president bush gave away the country's 'surplus' in the form of a stimulus check (remember the $300-$600 we received in 2003) ....and he was a prolific spender (hey you have to pay for security some how), I hope your antipahty for obama extends to bush as well considering he probably had a greater hand in our current economic woes.

What a very moronic comment. I cannot believe what I just read. Credit and credit cards have nothing to do with Health Care. Secondly, "bank fiasco? What on earth are you talking about? The 2007-2008 economy crash? That was under Bush. A credit-card reform bill was passed under Obama, and all that did was draw new guidlines that forced banks to be more forthcoming and transparent about credit card contracts and fees, and also prevent them from abusing consumers with credit and fee traps.

Annual fee
aron1975 1 year ago
The 7.5% rate is good, but as others have said, the $45 fee for 2 years would offset any interest you save. Also, if it is a variable rate, you could get stuck paying higher interest in the future, which is a very likely possibility given how things are going.

I would love to take advantage of this offer to transfer my credit card balances but as you said they have you coming and going - after three jobs being outsourced, i was reduced to making only min payments on my accounts but all were current but it really screwed up my debt to ratio - then I got laid off the next job and for the first time in over 25 years I have unable to make any payments to the credit card I have had the longest and actually carries the most debt because I had done balance transfers to get a 6.9 rate - so now I have been unable to pay them since nov 1 (three paymnts late now) - I have a shot at an at home job but it to some extent it does deal probably with taking peoples cr info over phone for reservations and if they run cr check, then they won't hire me (my only hope is they will see only 3 mnths) and then there is some bogus charge from some biopsy place in Gainsville Florida that my former Cigna Insurance sent me a statement I do not owe them anything because they submitted their claim tooo late but they still keep sending me bills saying I am almost a year over due..........if I don't get this job, I might as well pack it up and move to India.

They get you coming or going. This card has great interest rates, at least for a while (I don't know if they change the rate after you've got a balance or not). BUT....there's an annual fee of $45. So, depending on how much you use it and how long you expect to carry a balance the "advantages" may cancel out. I already have a couple of cards with annual fees, which I would love to close, but they are my oldest accounts and it would adversely affect my credit score. So I'm captive!!!!
