I was declined for not having enough revolving credit history...on a student card. How can they call it a student card? CK TransRisk score of 633.

Just got approved with a 705 CK // 698 Vantage, and I 660-670 (66x I forget the number exactly) for experian with 5 hard inquires prior to this card. Not sure of CL yet, but I have a Capital One card as well I got that now has a 500 limit, 6 or 7 month avg credit life for the one card, haven't missed a payment. Hope this helps.

I was denied with a CK TransRisk score of 665. The reason provided was: "INSUFFICIENT CREDIT EXPERIENCE" I'm a student and filled out all my college information, so I'm not really sure who exactly this card is meant to be for. I was hoping to use it as a start to building credit.

I've used this card for about 3 years now, I applied for it when I was a freshmen in college and got approved with a $300 credit. I've used it responsibily and paid my credit in full every month. Credit limit of $6000 on it now. Credit Karma score of 757 right now. I pay my balance in full every month and enjoy the cashback that it provides. Customer service is good for a credit card company and I have had no promblems with them. All in all excellent starter card for kid going to college.

This is a great card. I received it in April 2011 after applying for it and getting approved without a cosigner (I had enough income to do so). They approved me for a $500 limit and 0% APR for 12 months, which allowed me to start building my credit. I did stumble for a bit financially, but I have never been late on payments, paid at least the minimum payment and sometimes made multiple payments in a month to keep the balance down. Currently, my Transrisk score is 692 because of this. Discover customer support is great, their Cash Back program is unmatched, and while their APRs aren't the lowest, they certainly do have a lower range than some cards I looked at. It is a student card, so keep that in mind; if you're not a student, you may not get approved. Overall, a great card for a student looking to start on the road towards great credit.
