Don't believe any of the hype. I have written documentation from capitalone for a previous credit card. 9.9% for life.....guess what....pumped up the interest along with everyone else during the frenzy. Cut it up paid it out. I travel. I pay. I'm done. They are all thieves.........and as far as this card goes, why anyone would subscribe to a variable rate credit card is beyond me. I do something they all hate at the moment; I pay in full with greenbacks.

Question about the card: i established my credit history two years ago, with 4 current credit cards with a combined credit limit of $10,700, and a student loan with a balance of about $12,000. my CK score is 734, however my EQ is 759, EX is 746, and TU estimated by EQ as 722. on the website, it says that excellent credit requires 3 years or more of credit history. did anyone get approved for this card with flawless history but had less than 3 years of credit history? thanks!

I call B.S. on all the people complaining about the really high income level needed in order to qualify for this card. I'm going to be a college grad in a little under a month and currently work full time with earnings in the high 50ks and a ck score of 722 and I got approved for a Venture One card with a $7,500 limit. I think the criteria a lot of people are not meeting is that they haven't had a card for over five years with at least a $5,000 limit....

Hope you people realize from the above unless you have income over 75k and a credit score over 700 you can forget this card. That plus if you apply and are turned down your credit number will drop due to the investigation. This is basically a lose lose situation with both losses being yours!

Very good chances? I have a 700 KC score it said I had pretty good chances and got declined, wow pretty good chances of getting declined that is what it was. I bet my score drop quite a bit now.

A little background before I post this review. I have a CK score of 720, have never defaulted any payments of anything. Do not get fooled if you get mails from Capital One that you are "pre-sceened" and qualify for their credit cards. The fine print reads that they can still reject if you apply. Do not apply for this offer unless you have impeccable credit (in which case you might wonder why you want this card, at all). By impeccable credit, I mean a score of possiblly 750 or higher. Also, unlike other cards (Chase, Bank of America, HSBC. etc.), Capital One performs HARD INQUIRY on your credit (which may also affect your score to go down). They have a pathetic operating procedure where your calls to their customer service is handled by some offshore team who can only read out their standard replies. For me they rejected it (I have no idea why) and I have to wait for 2 weeks till they "mail" me in writing why they rejected my application. Till then, no matter what you do, their customer service can't help you. Oh wait, actually if you are rejected, no matter what, customer service can help you. Period. (unlike other banks where they will review your application and justify over the phone why they rejected your application). I am not falling for their traps anymore! ;) DISCLAIMER: I am choosing a rating (giving them 3 stars as benefit of doubt, as other users have had better experience than me) because I have to, but I have not used their credit card.

I seriously have not had a worse experience with a CC company, and I haven't even gotten to use the card that I was approved for yet. To make a long story short, customer service rep in fraud department closed my account without permission. Very unprofessional, and I'm not happy with the closed account on my report...

Just got approved with CK score of 739. 100k salary.

Wasn't instantly approved (slight mismatch in the mailing address I think), but got the approval and card in the mail less than ten days later. 791 ck score (approval letter shows 807 Experian). Got a $20k limit (my highest). 15.9% purchases after first year rather than the teaser 11.9% but I don't carry a balance on any card anyway. The lack of a foreign transaction fee is what makes this card useful for me, compared to my existing cards (even my best debit card, Ally Bank, has a 1% foreign fee). Account management website isn't too bad, plenty of email/text activity alerts can be set. Nice shiny pretty card. Can't comment on customer service as I haven't needed any, phone activation was totally automated, and website was easy to sign up for.

1.25 miles and no foreign transaction fees. That's very solid. Seems like the best option out there for international travelers, to my knowledge. Not sure why people give a card one star just because they were declined. Whether or not you are accepted has no bearing on the quality of the card. I can't join Augusta National golf course, but that doesn't make it a one star course.
