The classic cash back card - the rewards are excellent if you can get into the 5% CB range, and are smart about how you use it. I've read that people who use this card heavily typically get around 1.8%-1.9% CB average over all purchases, and anything next to 2% is pretty awesome. I have since moved to the Starwood AMEX card, but if I wasn't using that, I'd be using this.

GREAT cash back card. Been using it about 5 months now. Got approved for $7k limit with a 706 CK and 736 Equifax. Love Amex's customer service! Every time I've called, I've been able to get an actual human quickly, who lives in the states, and speaks without an accent.

Creat credit card, enjoy every benefit and advantage the Blue Cash Everyday does. Generous credit limit. The $75 annual fee means that unless you have a big family and you spend a lot of money on grocery or you need to use a lot of gas for driving or you like spending a lot of money in the department stores, otherwise, you will just lose more money becoz of the annual fee compared with the Everyday one. Do not get implused by the higher cashback rates alone for the "special" bonus cashback category, they are only 1% and 3% higher. Do a simple math yourself: assuming you spend half on grocery and half on department stores and gas, that means you are getting 2% higher rate for those on average. $75 / 2% = $3750, which means you at least need to spend $3750 annual to breakeven the annual fee and from that point on, you are still trying to catchup with the benefits you already earned by the Everyday card, there is a breakeven point where by spending more than that, you will earn more with this card, otherwise, stay with the Everyday one for the ease of your life or math calculation if you are not good at that.

Great card! High credit line, really good cashback rates on purchases, especially on those specially categories like grocery, gas, depratment stores. Discount on redeeming the giftcards by using the points. And as always like the other Amex cards, great customer service, good Amex credit card benefits like extended product warranty, rental car issurance etc.

Denied with a credit score of 683. Credit card utilization is 31%. Never late on payments (I have one 30 day late payment in the last 10 years and that was an accident, which I quickly corrected). So after I was denied, I applied for Chase Freedom and was approved with a $3,300 CL @17.99% APR. I've also had a Chase Slate card for 1 year with a $3,500 CL @ 11.99% APR. Oh well, I guess American Express would rather I further my business relationship with Chase, than to start a business relationship with them. Pretty disapointed in them.

Denied today with a CK score of 750 and annual income of over $100,000. Had 30 day late on Auto loan about 5 years ago and a paid collection with 0 balance 6.5 years ago. Any thoughts on the reason for denial?

Just applied for this card today. I checked my application status online and it said I was approved. I do not know my CL, but will update when I get the welcome packet in the mail. My info is TU 726, EX 726, EQ 718, Vantage 818, 8 year credit history, no negatives on TU or EX, disputing closed files on my EQ report, no accounts in collections, +$47k annual income, low credit limits on my other 3 credit cards, 12% credit utilization, 8+ hard inquiries, just got approved for $3,500 CL with Discover. I am happy that I was approved for AmEx, excited to become a cardmember.

Just called today and they told me I was approved for $2K CL. The rep told me they would review my CL again in 60 days with no hard inquiry and base any decision solely off of my account history. Hopefully I will get a sizable increase due to my good credit score and excellent payment history.
