I received an offer for this card in the mail. I was approved with a 689 CK score. I have used it twice now. The rewards seem pretty nice, considering you get basically 1 point for every dollar spent, and more depending on the packs you sign up for. Yes, this is a charge card, (not a revolving credit card) which means you have to pay the balance in full each month. Having an AmEx looks good on your credit report, and for only a $25 annual fee, I think it's worth it. Since I've only had this card for a couple of weeks, I'll probably come back in a couple months after I've had more experience with it.

I had a GOLD AMEX back in 2005 which I closed in good standing. I guess that is why I got approved for the ZYNC having only a score in high 500's, maybe low, low 600's. Great card, try calling customer service you will be surpirsed, they actually appreciate your business. Haven''t tried using the packs yet.

I've had this card since 2010 and LOVE IT! About a year back I decided to become a Gold card member so I could get access to Gold Card events. While the lower tierd cards get early access to tickets, I have found in some cases that the Gold card gives you even earlier acess. The 125.00US$ fee pays for itself even if you can get one set of big name tickets per year. Another bonus is that your Gold card membership elevates your rewards points making them more versatile. With the Gold card you can transfer points to hotel and airline reward programs. You are not able to do that with Zync points. The reason why I only use my Zync card is due to the accelerated point accumulation with certain packs. However, last June thru September they did a promotion... double points on gas & groceries when using the Gold card. The Zync card does not offer double points for gas & groceries, so I did use my Gold card for the period. You gotta work that system!

Refuse to report the balance since technically there is no absolute limit. Not a good card to have if you want to rebuild your credit as they only report the balance. Much better off going with a different card.

I applied and was approved for the ZYNC card about a year ago and have been very impressed so far. I currently have a 726 CK score. Obviously, this is a charge card - not a credit card - so you need to pay off the entire monthly balance in full. I assume they cancel your account if you fail to pay in full by the due date. I have the restaurant pack and the connect pack. The rewards program is great - I've used my points on Amazon, ticketmaster.com, etc. I typically spend between 1200 and 1500 a month on my ZYNC card. I use the American Express Blue Cash Preferred card now for gas and groceries because of the better cash back rewards program for those categories with that card. I'd definitely suggest anyone who wants an AMEX charge without a hefty annual fee apply for the ZYNC card.

Recieved a pre selection notice for the Gold card in the mail.... Laughed because my EX score is 625... Went to the website and checked if I was pre selected for anything, and it listed the Gold, Green, and Zync, so I gave it a shot with the Zync card... and got APPROVED. Never would have guessed that. Give it a shot!

I was approved with for the Zinc with an assigned credit limit as well. If there are any member’s in the “know” or have experience which AMEX card is easiest to be approved for and or the best to establish a history with AMEX. Also, I would be VERY appreciative if anybody would reply to this post with a BACKDOOR number for AMEX Zinc New Accounts or any number where I can reach a NEW ACCOUNTS MANAGER who could possibly override the decision. Thank you!

I wouldn't stir the waters as a new customer just yet -- build a relationship with them first. Remember, you just BARELY got into the door with that restriction. Use and pay in full. If you try too fast, you can do more damage resulting in your account being closed and being blacklisted from AMEX. Just chill out for a while and put normal use to the card.

I have fairly limited credit- actually I have one collection accound and one accound in good standing, lower 600's across the board, I recieved a pre-qualification for this card, kind of laughed- knowing american express is generally one of the hardest companies to get a card from, but long story short, I was approved but with the $500 limit restriction- with auto payment, would have been $200 if I didn't select the auto payment option. As much as the limit isn't great, I am excited to have this charge card, I'm somewhat pretentious- I tend to like credit cards for their appeal more than whats in the "terms and conditions"... Hopefully this card will allow me to establish a long term relationship with AMEX :)! DON'T BE SCARED OF AMEX ANYMORE! Try their pre-qualify online! :)

I have had a great experience with AMEX and I love using my Zync card. I have a $500 limit on mine because of limited credit, but that is far more than what I need. I like having a charge card because I know there is no interest and I have to pay off what I spend each month. Like somoene said above, it is good if you want to establish a good relationship with American Express. I'm not so crazy about the annual fee, but it is very modest compared to other comparable cards (like the AMEX Green card at $90 annually). I'm a very satisfied customer. I will say this too--I'm not so crazy about the packs. None of those categories are ones that I spend enough money in to make it worth the additional annual fee, which is fine since packs are all optional. The flexibility's great!

Just approved with CK score of 745. TrueCredit 3 bureau monitoring puts me at TU:699, EX:700, EQ:695. Applied with Amex before the second I turned 18 in 2006 and was declined obviously then again in 2008 before I began monitoring my credit and didn't know I had collections on there by mistake or that my foolishness with cards freshman year with Bank of A and 1st financial had messed me up so bad. Had 30, 90, even a 120 day late. Lates last reported in 2008. 1st financial paid off fall 2009, Bank of A paid off spring 2010. Got the collection errors all removed. Amex only pulls Experian. I figured I would take the hit if I was declined and just not apply again for a couple more years since my only 2 cards are a CapitalOne with $750 limit and a Saks 5th Avenue store card with 2k limit. CapitalOne pulled all 3 bureaus when I applied online so thats the only inquiry on Experian. I'm so excited right now. I've worked super hard for this and to get my scores back up. I feel like I'm finally joining the ranks of adulthood even though I'm only 22. That mess freshman year could've really messed me up if I hadn't have caught it fast. I'm still in school and don't plan on putting more than $250 a month on this card and I always pay everything off in full so thats why I chose this card instead of an Amex credit card. I got the Restaurant and Style pack so my annual fee is $75 a year. Not bad considering I like the look of the white card. Trendy for young college kids and a foot in the door at amex. I will still use the capitalone for gas and groceries since it gives me 2% cash back and my capitalone debit card for miscellaneous purchases since it gives me 10 airline miles for every swipe. Ive had it since August 2010 and currently have 7800 airline miles. Looking to redeem once I graduate in 2012 from my program. I only use it on purchases under $10, that way its like I get 1 airline mile per dollar. Otherwise I put it on the capitalone, or now...the ZYNC!!! So excited!!!

This card has become my everyday card and I used it instead of a debit card. I originally said I only planned on putting around $250/month on it, but its just so handy that I have been averaged about 3k/month over the past couple months. It would probably be 2x that much but not all places accept Amex, and thats the only downfall. But I have actually begun picking the places I eat, shop, etc based on if they do accept amex or not. Its a pretty fantastic card. I did add a Discover card to my wallet as well to increase the total overall credit I had available to me. Now I carry Amex, Discover, and Capital One. The Cap1 is just there because its the longest card (other than ones I'm an auth user on). The only thing I hate is that this card puts a cap on the 2x points you can get on the rewards packs. They max out at 5k per pack (shopping, restaurant are my 2 packs). After you hit 5k in each pack, you only begin earning 1 point per dollar. Thats the only thing I dont like as I'll be reaching the 5k limit on the shopping pack relatively soon, but the restaurant pack should last me a few more months. Great card.
