They used to be the only player in town, now I would only consider them for the service values. I loved it when they had the highest deposit rates, but I guess good things can't go on forever!

I have a savings and a checking account with ING.  Very happy with the interest rates, absence of fees, and good customer service when needed.

Five stars... They give you $50 dollars for any future fees you might cause yourself to get and work very well with you on late fees. Great experience with them online. Haven't seen their branch but i'm sure there great as well. 

 I, too, have been an ING customer for years and find their rates are great and their customer service is awesome.  I also remember when their savings account interest was higher, but comparatively, ING is still the best.  ING online banking is very east  to use.

We have been  customers for a number of years. Ing used to give outstanding rates. Lately they have been lowering their rates repeatedly making them less than competitive. We're taking our business elsewhere. It seems capital one thinks it can impose its greed on customers without major repercussion.

I just went back to them and their Electric Orange checking accounts are an unbelievable value for higher deposit amounts.  I switched from Shwab Bank after their savings rates plumeted and I've been very pleased with ING service. That said, I too worry about the Capital One buyout.  But if they screw it up, there are other places to park money. 

This bank is great!!! The only downside to it forcing me to keep a local bank account is you can't deposit cash, and they won't except money orders (for those doing Ebay selling). Otherwise, I wish they'd offer 30 year fixed mortgages and auto loans. Then they'd have me for everything!!!!

Excellent customer service, easy to use website, one of the best APY rates in today's market. Careful if you're trying to rebuild or build credit, applying for the Electric Orange checking makes a "hard inquiry" on your credit report so it does affect your score. I t's worth it if you ask me, B of A was killing us in fees. ING has none. Seriously, NO FEES! Stop paying the bank just to have an account, let them pay you for loaning them your money.

Been with ING Direct for over 8 years. Just recently opened the Electric Orange checking. I really love ING seems to be the only consumer oriented bank encouraging you to save your money instead of raping you in fees. I also have Bank of America and SunTrust. Bank of America I had many headaches over and over, the only thing that keeps me with them is their technology. ING Direct so far has been a no frills bank, their mobile app is great and their website. It may not look as fancy as let's say Bank of America but it gets down to the meat and to the bones. Unfortunately the Captial One buy out deal of ING Direct has me very worried because I believe that the ING culture will be lost and eventually it will turn into another major bank that just want your fees and treat your account like prey waiting for any mistakes. I just have to wait and see.
