Got stuck with them because they bought our mortgage from another bank. Terrible customer service. Try to find a dept. you need to talk to, takes hours upon hours. They have messed up our account and our credit numerous times, by losing information and payments. Had problems getting property taxes paid on time. We are trying to refinance just to get away from this bank.

I have never known a bank that calls itself the Bank of America, but hassles you if you opened your account in one state and need to do a transaction in another state. I opened my account in California and moved to Tennessee. The Bank of America in Tennessee gave me drama about conducting banking since I opened my account in California. Nonsense! Also, they charge a fee if your balance goes under $1,500. Not many people have $1,500 just sitting in their account collecting dust. I want to close my BOA account so bad, but I am abroad at the moment and must wait until I return home later this year.

I've had their secured card or about a month and a half now--I'm giving them 3 stars just because they were quick to report my new account to the bureaus and took a fairly reasonable amount of time to get my new card to me. I only got this card to build credit, soooo I really can't expect any royal treatment here or anything. It is what it is. We'll see what happens in about 11 more months, if they actually unsecure the card. The one thing that I like less than I like less about this card than I do about the Capital one secured card is that the account actually shows as a secured credit card on my credit report. As long as I keep low balances and PIF, hopefully they won't find a way to screw me over. I see a lot of scathing reviews here--I think that I will not be banking with them. As with any sub-prime, you take what you can get. Stay the course and always keep in mind why it is you got these kinds of cards in the first place-ONLY to build credit. I have this card, a CapOne secured, an Orchard Bank unsecured, and a VS Angels card. I won't put anything on any of these cards that I don't know for sure that I can pay right then if I wanted to. I seriously started rebuilding about 7 months ago-hopefully in a year and half, two years or so my efforts will pay off and I won't be stuck eating a big sh*t sandwich in the credit world.

it would take alot of space to write it all out, lets just say i closed all of my accounts with Bof A took my $60,000 out and will never do business with them again ... ever, had very poor service and lost $9,000 of my 403B in the process.

I've never had an issue with Bank of America. Customer service is great and every time I go in, I'm reminded why I keep my accounts with them. The only reason I may switch banks at some point is because I have their student checking account (no fees) and it converts to a regular account (with some fees) after 5 years. If you have a problem with their over-the-phone service, just go to a branch and they'll help you out.

I totally agree that their customer service is great (if you are polite, of cause).

They have an account where you do paperless/online banking and don't really use the branch you don't get the fees. I also agree with the Customer Service.. I haven't had a problem with them at all. I guess it all depend son what branch you go to.

you can have them convert your account to ebanking, dont have to change account number, just do all your transactions online or at atm, and no fees, no min. balance, no need to change banks...best bank ever

I will never use or trust them again because once I had moved my money there for a few months everything was ok but then I went to withdraw or even check my account and I couldn't do anything so I had to go their branch as ask what's going on why can't I access my money they said oh your on the chex system so we are investigating your account and they never once told me anything in advanced that they woould freeze my account so they acted like my money was really their money and they could do whatever they want with it. So after a month I got fed up and when to ask to get my money out thats ridicilous and maybe even illegal because I was never ever given a prior notice then they announced they would charge me hidden fees and investigation fees just because they felt like and I got scared that I would lose my money that would be directly deposited there but luckily I was able to get the check instead because I know for certain that after they closed down my account after accesing their own fees(which bydaway I was a really good customer up to that point) they would have told me that my direct deposit was never there and that they never received it. I only tried it because my family has it but be warned BofA will act like your money is their money and they have complete control of it and they have a lot of fees none of us are aware of
